H-E-B names new president
H-E-B promoted Chief Operating Officer Roxanne Orsak to president, effective January 2026. Orsak will succeed Craig Boyan, who will retire at the end of 2026 after 20 years of leadership. Boyan will transition to a senior advisor role, remaining a member of the board of directors and joining the company’s board oversight and advisory committee. In Orsak’s new role as president and COO, she will report to CEO Howard Butt III.

Mushroom Council debuts new campaign
The Mushroom Council announced a bold new marketing platform and tagline, “It’s Not Magic. It’s Mushrooms.,” aimed at attracting the next generation of mushroom shoppers and driving long-term category growth.
Developed with direct input from a marketing task force made up of mushroom industry leaders, the platform addresses a new target audience of emerging consumers: current light and medium mushroom shoppers whose profiles skew younger to Millennial and Gen Z. USDA restricts PACA violators in California, Florida, Michigan and Virginia
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on four produce businesses for failing to meet contractual obligations to the sellers of produce they purchased and for failing to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. These sanctions include suspending the businesses’ PACA licenses and barring the businesses’ principal operators from engaging in PACA-licensed business or other activities without USDA approval.
