Melissa’s World Variety to showcase exciting new products at Southern Exposure
Although Melissa’s World Variety has been a member of the Southeast Produce Council for five years, this year will be its first time exhibiting. And the company is excited about showcasing its newest items at the event.
Robert Schueller, director of public relations for the Los Angeles-based company, said the new items include “Melissa’s” “CLEAN SNAX,” Hollandaise Sauce, Steamed Artichoke Hearts, Roasted Artichoke Hearts, Steamed Garbanzo beans and Steamed French Country Style Beets.
Florida Classic Growers gearing up for first blueberry season
This April, Florida Classic Growers, located in Dundee, FL, will begin moving Florida blueberries into the pipeline. “We’re excited about our new Florida blueberry program,” said President Al Finch. The 2016 deal will begin with select blueberry growers, he explained. Florida Classic anticipates growing its volume for this program in the coming years.

ALDI to open 45 Southern California stores in 2016
ALDI will open eight new California stores on March 24. The grand openings will mark a significant milestone for the grocery retailer as it prepares to open approximately 45 stores and employ more than 1,100 people in Southern California by the end of 2016.
As part of the grand opening events, shoppers will be invited to enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win produce for a year.
