Higueral Produce to build new warehouse and office facility in 2016
rio rico, az — In mid- to late spring, construction will begin on a new office and warehouse facility for Higueral Produce.
Edgar Duarte, a partner in the firm, said the 300-foot-by-300-foot construction site is essentially the last construction spot available in the Rio Rico industrial park, which is filled with produce companies. Duarte said this will be a green facility, incorporating solar panels, water capture and all LED-lighting.

Duke City Produce cited for PACA violations
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has cited Duke City Produce Inc., based in Albuquerque, NM, for failure to pay $382,655 to three sellers for 53 lots of produce. This is in violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
As a result of these actions, Duke City Produce Inc. cannot operate in the produce industry until Dec. 4, 2017, at which time it may reapply for a PACA license.
