Kings celebrates rebranding in Midland Park
Kings Food Markets held a grand reopening ceremony Feb. 28 at its location in Midland Park, NJ. This was the 11th store to undergo the rebranding, with 10 more planned for completion by March 2015. Kings currently operates 25 outlets located in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

USDA's revised WIC packages exclude white potatoes despite protests
WASHINGTON -- A final rule that revises the food package for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) recipients includes fresh fruits and vegetables, but the ban on fresh white potatoes continues.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture plans to publish the final WIC rule March 3 after receiving more than 7,000 letters on its 2007 interim measure, many of whom voiced support for adding whole grains and fruits and vegetables to the revised WIC package.
Former FFVA executive George Sorn dies at 86
George Sorn, former executive vice president of the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, died Sunday, Feb. 23 at the age of 86.
Mr. Sorn’s career with FFVA spanned 40 years to the day, starting Jan. 1, 1953 and retiring Dec. 31, 1992. He started out as a field representative, but became the organization’s executive vice president and general manager in 1984.
Kroger added more than 7,000 jobs in 2013, 40,000 in last six years
The Kroger Co.'s total active workforce had grown by more than 7,000 during fiscal year 2013. Approximately 90 percent of the new jobs are in the company's supermarket divisions.
IPC survey reveals potato popularity on the rise

Southern Exposure gets under way in Orlando
