Southern Exposure gets under way in Orlando
ORLANDO, FL -- The Southeast Produce Council's 2014 Southern Exposure conference and trade show got under way Thursday, Feb. 27, with the annual golf tournament, which has been renamed the Tom Page Golf Classic. Close to 260 golfers registered this year, a record for the golf tournament, according to SPC Executive Director Terry Vorhees.
A light drizzle and cooler-than-normal temperatures did not deter the golfers from having a good time

After a delicious buffet lunch at the Reunion Golf Club, a short distance from the Caribe Royale Conference Center & Hotel, the headquarters for this year's Southern Exposure, SPC President Andrew Scott of Coosemans Worldwide announced the winners and handed out the awards.
The foursome of Nate Branch, Kellen Copeland, Sam Harden and Dug Schwalls, all of Southern Valley, placed first on the Watson course and first overall in the tournament. Their names will be engraved on the new Claret Jug Perpetual Trophy that will reside forever at the SPC headquarters, according to Scott.
The winning foursome on the Palmer course consisted of Dave Stornetta of Produce Careers, Kevin Dunleavey of Super Marketing Promotions, Emerson Elliott of E. Foods and Nathan Stornetta of Produce Careers.
Two workshops were scheduled for Friday morning, Feb. 28, as well as the gala opening party that evening, with music by The Wild Party Band. Saturday's events will begin with the keynote lunch, featuring keynote speaker Bill Cowher, a former head coach of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers and currently an analyst on the CBS television show "The NFL Today.
The trade show is set for Saturday afternoon, with the closing farewell reception that evening.
