The first-ever shipment of Gala apples grown in the Pacific Northwest was exported to Lantao China by Domex Superfresh in early August under a new trade protocol.
Natalia Gamarra Joins PMA as global business development manager

Former Syngenta exec joins Kroger
The Kroger Co. has named Jessica C. Adelman to serve as Kroger's group vice president of corporate affairs, effective Nov. 1.
"Jessica brings a wealth of public affairs leadership experience and deep knowledge of the food supply chain," Rodney McMullen, Kroger's chairman and chief executive officer, said in a press release. "We look forward to welcoming her to our senior leadership team."
Stanley Orchards replanting popular apples varieties with high density trees
Stanley Orchard Sales Inc., in Modena, NY, is swapping out some of its old apple trees and replanting high-density Honeycrisp and Gala varieties to meet the growing demand.
“We respond to the market, and these are highly popular apples today,” said Sales Manager Tony Maresca. “Consumers love the Honeycrisp, and it brings a premium. We run out of them by holiday time. It’s a good problem to have.”
