International Fresh Produce Association has named Colleen Fagundus as the new director of floral. Fagundus joined IFPA in 2016 working in sales and membership for almost 10 years.
Trendspotting: Online grocery's strong start to 2025
The new year brought improved sales for the online grocery market. January 2025 ended with $10 billion in monthly sales, a 16.6 percent increase over January 2024 according to the most recent Brick Meets Click Grocery Shopper Survey, sponsored by Mercatus. Not only were January 2025 sales stronger than last year, it was also the sixth consecutive month of eGrocery sales above $9.5 billion, fueled in large part by the broad and deep discounts on membership and/or subscription programs.
IFCO delivers record environmental savings
IFCO achieved record environmental savings with customers in 2024, a year marked by targeted expansion and a series of customer-centric packaging innovations. IFCO reusable packaging containers were used to deliver 2.4 billion shipments of fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, dairy and eggs, baked goods, bananas and other fresh grocery products during 2024.
In total, by using the IFCO SmartCycle circular pooling system instead of single-use packaging, customers generated the following environmental savings during 2024:
