Tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods take effect
The tariffs President Donald Trump planned to put in place on Canadian and Mexican goods went into effect just after midnight. As initially planned, a 25 percent duty was put in effect for all imports from Mexico as well as most goods from Canada. Trump also added an extra 10 percent tariff on goods from China, 20 percent total.

Kroger CEO resigns amid internal investigation
Kroger Chairman and CEO Rodney McMullen has resigned from the company following a board investigation of his personal conduct that, while unrelated to the business, was inconsistent with Kroger's policy on business ethics. USDA restricts PACA violators in Florida
The U.S. Department of Agriculture imposed sanctions on three produce businesses in Florida for failing to meet contractual obligations to the sellers of produce they purchased and failing to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
These sanctions include suspending the businesses’ PACA licenses and barring the principal operators of the businesses from engaging in PACA-licensed business or other activities without approval from USDA.
