Tulips, daffodils, lilies and roses — customers are ready for the bright-colored, spring flower selection. Easter lands on Sunday, April 5 and Passover starts Friday, April 3 and ends the evening of Saturday, April 11. Be sure to order your supplies ahead of time and create a pre-holiday display to let the consumers know what is available in floral. Here are some merchandising tips:
Another year of mixed results for Valentine’s Day sales
No matter which day of the week the holiday falls on, or the weather outside, or the political party in office, Valentine’s Day remains a very busy and challenging holiday for the floral industry and 2015 was no different. It’s still too early to have the final results from all the various sectors, but a non-scientific survey of industry members gives some indication that holiday sales seemed relatively flat compared to 2014.

CPMA Passion for Produce Program attracts record number of attendees
The Canadian Produce Marketing Association announced the participants for the 2015 Passion for Produce Program in Montreal.
As an added value to membership, PFP was created by the CPMA in 2010 to provide rising stars in the produce industry with the opportunity to accelerate their professional development through a unique mentoring experience at the Annual Convention and Trade Show. NOGALES, AZ — Bob Shipley, founder of Shipley Sales LLC in Nogales, has exported Mexican-grown asparagus to northern neighbors more than 20 years. In Caborca, Sonora, he has been an asparagus grower for as long as 15 years.
Rawl honors employees, customers at 90th anniversary celebration
