Titan Farms expands into processing via sister company
Titan Farms, a leading East Coast peach grower, is expanding into the fruit and vegetable processing landscape through a new processing facility. The operation, Palmetto Processing Solutions, is a sister company to Titan Farms.
The combination of the two companies brings complete control of its supply chain from field to packaging. In 2016 alone, Palmetto Processing expects to process over 10 million pounds of peaches in puree and frozen formats — both individually quick frozen and bulk.

Edgar Duarte, a partner in the firm, said the 300-foot-by-300-foot construction site is essentially the last construction spot available in the Rio Rico industrial park, which is filled with produce companies. Duarte said this will be a green facility, incorporating solar panels, water capture and all LED-lighting.
Southern Specialties’ offshore program raises the bar
Southern Specialties, based in Pompano Beach, FL, has over 25 years of experience in offshore production — importing, processing and distributing — according to Charlie Eagle, vice president of business development.
“During the course of the year, we’re involved in growing and shipping fruits and vegetables from 10 different countries,” he told The Produce News on Jan. 25, noting that the backbone of the company’s specialty vegetable program is Guatemalan. “We grow in several regions in Guatemala,” he added.
