Fresh Solutions Network will feature A Cut Above fresh whole, whole-peeled and fresh-cut potato line at the July 28 IFPA Foodservice Expo in Monterey, CA, at booth No. 321.  A Cut Above uses select potato varieties for superior performance to help streamline kitchen workflow and add profit to food service customers.

California trade shows, historically, draw the highest attendance rates due, in part, to the ease of logistics for so many across the industry. The high concentration of growers in the state and service providers who support the supply chain means many companies can bring larger teams, more fresh products to display and mitigate travel expenses to participate in shows like IFPA’s Global Produce & Floral Show. The mild California fall weather also adds to the appeal.

The seventh annual Organic Produce Summit was held July 12-13 at the Monterey Conference Center in Monterey, CA. The much-anticipated two-day event is specifically designed to bring together organic fresh produce growers, shippers and processors with retailers and buying organizations from across North America. The trade show featured more than 170 exhibitors from across North America and was a flurry of activity throughout the day.

Dollar General aims to offer fresh produce in more than 10,000 stores in the coming years, with a meaningful number of stores located in United States Department of Agriculture food deserts. The company offered fresh fruits and vegetables in nearly 3,900 stores as of May 5, with plans to have produce in 5,000 stores by January 2024, which is expected to give Dollar General more individual points of produce distribution than any other U.S. mass retailer or grocer and halfway through its commitment.
