Albertsons Cos. Inc. raised nearly $6 million through customer donations made at the register to support community organizations committed to connecting qualified individuals with existing federal meal programs. Grants will be awarded through the company’s Nourishing Neighbors charitable program this month to help those in need sign up for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Women Infants and Children.

Shopping for Good, Together We Give Back was the theme of Healthy Family Project’s annual Fall Produce for Kids campaign that took place Sept. 20 - Nov. 1 at Publix. Fifteen produce companies provided 850,000 meals to the 35 Feeding America network food banks in the Publix market area.
