A shopper enters a grocery store, takes a cart and approaches the very first department — produce. Whatever the customer sees first is the impression that will influence his or her shopping experience. Since customers approach produce in the beginning of the department, their first reaction to what they see will either knock their socks off or immediately turn them off. You don’t get a second chance to make a sale once customers move past a display.
