Operating out of the New England Produce Center, S. Strock & Co., continues its long legacy in the produce business, which dates back to 1897 when the market was originally located at the Faneuil Hall in Boston. The company received its PACA license in 1930, making it the oldest active license in the industry.

Back then, company founder Samuel Strock had a small operation, selling fruit and vegetables to those in Boston, but the company has grown into one of the largest and most respected firms supplying the New England region. 

The fourth Eastern Produce Council Leadership Class culminated its 2022 educational program by attending the New York Produce Show and participating in Cornell University’s Foundational Excellence Future-Leaders-In-Produce event at the show.

After nearly three decades on the Superfresh Growers sales team, Dan Harrington, account manager, will retire at the end of the year.

Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc. President and CEO David Smith will retire at the end of 2023. Dan Funk, AWG's chief operations officer, will assume the office upon Smith's retirement.

One of the recent changes at the company is the promotion of Kyle McGrath to director of sales and marketing. He replaces Rod Sbragia, who left the company recently to become vice president of sales and marketing at Crown Jewels Marketing.
