Produce for Better Health wrapped its annual Consumer Connection Conference last month in Scottsdale, AZ, where collaboration was the central message for improving fruit and vegetable consumption, in addition to improving access and driving appeal. This event marked the first of its kind within the organization’s new positioning under the International Fresh Produce Association’s Foundation for Fresh Produce, demonstrating true collaboration in and of itself. 
 

The Fresh Produce & Floral Council held its annual FPFC Expo, Cultivating a Healthy Future, on Thursday, April 27. The morning began with breakfast, awards and recognitions recapping the year that was, concluding with an inspiring message from keynote speaker Sarah Thomas, the first female referee to break into NFL. Afterward the show opened with a whole host of retailers and exhibitors in attendance.

After a rough winter with erratic weather conditions in many growing areas, it looks like the spring crop is ready to be moved from the fields to the stores. The vegetable category is now opening up in many areas whereby the growers and shippers are ready to help retailers move the product through the system.

NatureSweet has earned the prestigious certification by the government of Jalisco to become a State Area Voluntarily Destined for Conservation, which will help protect the biological diversity of more than 123 acres of land at its plant in Tuxcacuesco, Jalisco.

The area is considered a pollinator corridor, a pathway that will help preserve and protect various species as they move between areas. A stream on the property helps aid the local aquifer, prevents drought and serves as a water source for animals.
