The DiMare Fresh Houston facility has completed its move into a new 110,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art distribution and packing center located in Houston.

T.M. Kovacevich Philadelphia, commonly called TMK, located at the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market, recently announced that the company is expanding its distribution. Tommy Kovacevich, general manager of the company, said it has partnered with Manfredi Logistics Service in Kennett Square, PA, to bring its products and services to a larger footprint.

Kansas City, KS-based Liberty Fruit Co. promoted ERIC SCHRIEVER Nov. 1 to director of procurement.

In his new position at Liberty Fruit, Mr. Schriever is responsible for overall sourcing and procurement of products, as well as building strong relationships with the company’s sales and procurement offices.

The calendar flips to December so it must be winter, but for Boskovich Farms, which is located in the coastal Southern California community of Oxnard, there is not much that separates one season from the next.

“This is a 12 months of the year deal,” said Russell Widerburg, who is the company’s sales manager.

The muscle that Peru has garnered from its mango export industry manifest itself once again at the annual Perspectivas de la Industria de Exportación de Mango Peruano, held earlier this month in front of more than 300 people in that South American country.

The United Fresh Produce Association will honor Frieda Rapoport Caplan with its Lifetime Achievement Award during its 2013 Winter Leadership meetings this January in Tucson, AZ. The award recognizes individuals for a lifetime of achievement and for lasting contributions to the fresh produce industry.
