Fresh from the Start, a leading grower-shipper based in Westhampton, NY, is launching an event-themed onion campaign to bring attention to its onion program and to offer a way to celebrate specific holidays or events during the year.

The start of Vidalia onion season is almost here, with the official pack date announced by the Georgia Agriculture Commissioner and Vidalia Onion Committee. Vidalia onion fans across the country can mark their calendars for April 17, when the sweet onions are set to ship to grocery stores nationwide.

While the weather has challenged several items for ad promotions, there are plenty of potatoes available — and potatoes are the backbone of the produce department. The demand and market have been steady. Idaho Russets are of excellent quality and readily available for ad promotions.

Gumz Farms grows red and yellow potatoes, grows and sources yellow, white, red and sweet onions, and packs and ships all year-round.

“Wisconsin potatoes are a smart option because we are able to fulfill the consumer’s demand for local produce,” said Cassie Krebs, administrative and marketing assistant and food-safety coordinator for the Endeavor, WI-based company. “Wisconsin potatoes have continued to gain recognition in the marketplace as a quality choice for red and yellow potatoes.”

G&R Farms, a third-generation family farm and leader in sweet onions, released a newly updated website highlighting new improvements aligned with its 2023-24 rebrand. The new design aligns with its goals to tell its family story and transparency and education of how its onions are grown and packed.
