On March 31, Kevin Donovan is retiring from Phillips Mushroom Farms after spending the past 35 years as the sole salesman involved in selling the company’s entire production each day.

South Mill Champs, one of the largest high-quality mushroom growers in North America, announced it has expanded its Atlanta distribution center.  In addition, the company acquired substantially all of the operating assets and name of Seven Stars, Inc., a potato and onion distributor which services the U.S. Southeast.

The current market forces of global supply chain shortages, transportation availability constraints, and a drastically reduced farm labor market combined with seasonal threats of crop disease are heavily negatively impacting U.S. mushroom production, resulting in the forecast of a significantly reduced mushroom holiday supply capability, the American Mushroom Institute announced.
