On the heels of Gotham Greens’ 10th anniversary celebration, and as the company continues to expand its greenhouse footprint, Gotham Greens launched a new series of musical marketing partnerships featuring some of the most iconic bands and musicians that shape us and connect us to our communities.

Agricultural Research Service scientists have begun to uncover details underlying a pattern of seasonal E. coli O157:H7 outbreaks linked to bagged Romaine lettuce.

After a challenging winter with weather complications that induced quality issues, the lettuce category appears brighter as it moves from the Yuma, AZ,  winter deal to California. The market is softening on prices and shippers are saying the quality is looking good.

The Nunes Co. has a rich and long history with California-grown lettuce with iceberg lettuce being the company’s flagship item.

“Iceberg lettuce was the first item The Nunes Co. sold when the company began in 1976 and it is currently the largest selling item,” said Stephanie Cantero, communications and marketing coordinator for the Salinas, CA-based company. “Through the years, the segment has evolved to fulfill customer demand and adapt to consumer preferences.”

As a fourth-generation Armenian family farm, Baloian Farms’ history dates to 1917 providing premium quality vegetables.

The Fresno, CA-based company’s products can be found in both Pam Pak and Baloian Farms brands, with the latter gaining more prominence as Baloian Farms looks to showcase the family name and legacy in the business.

Near the end of the 2021 leafy greens growing season on California’s Central Coast, the LGMA program made updates to its food-safety standards. As the 2022 Central Coast growing season kicks off, LGMA members have several new requirements related to food safety.
