Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A. Inc. has today announced that it will now be able to offer its customers longer lasting avocados through a partnership with Apeel. When paired with Fresh Del Monte’s high-quality avocados, Apeel’s innovation will allow them to stay fresher two times longer, helping to reduce food waste. With an infrastructure already in place to help support growth in the category, Fresh Del Monte’s new and existing customers will now be able to partner with the brand on their Apeel application.

Avocados From Mexico launched Avocado Nation Studios, the latest digital innovation from AFM that employs data intelligence to offer predictions, recommendations and personalized content tailored to each viewer. Featuring exclusive videos created by a network of content creators, the platform provides fresh and fun ways to engage with the brand.

Mission Produce Inc., a leader in sourcing, producing and distributing fresh Hass avocados, announced with its partner Mr. Avocado, one of China’s leading avocado brands, a shipment of avocados to China from California.

As part of its strategy to help reduce food waste, West Pak Avocado has partnered with Apeel, the developer of a plant-based, end-to-end solution allowing a more extended shelf life for their premium avocados. Apeel’s plant-based protection is made from materials that are found in the skins, peels and seeds of all plants. It creates an edible coating that keeps moisture in and oxygen out — the two primary causes of spoilage. This plant-based protection helps produce last two times longer, offering a sustainable way to fight food waste by enabling more time to enjoy West Pak avocados.

Not only has Avocados From Mexico been named to Fast Company's prestigious annual list of the World's Most Innovative Companies for 2021, but it also has been recognized as the No. 1 innovator in the Branding category. Avocados have found their way onto the tables of an increasing number of U.S. households as the category continues to develop and cement its place as one of the largest categories in fresh produce. A recent study by the Hass Avocado Board, available here for free, revealed that purchases of avocados have increased substantially over a four-year period (2016-19). The study indicates that the growth is coming from a growing segment of “Super” avocado shoppers.
