The Ambrosia story begins as any good story, with humble beginnings, a bit of chance, and a lot of hard work.  “First discovered up in Canada, as a chance seedling, growing wild in the middle of a Jonagold orchard,” says Bob Mast, grower and president of CMI Orchards in Wenatchee, WA, whose team introduced Ambrosia to the U.S.

The New York Apple Association will once again be sponsoring the New York Road Runner’s premier event and the largest marathon in the world, the TCS New York City Marathon. Held annually on the first Sunday in November, the 26.2-mile race runs through the five boroughs of New York City.

As October winds down so too does the New York apple harvest. The crop is expected to be on par with the five-year average that offers plenty of promotional opportunities for Northeast retailers.

It’s rare for a company to have workers who are lifelong employees, but Fowler Farms is paying tribute to six employees who have worked at least 30 years on the farm, in the packinghouse or at the customer service center.
