IPR Fresh has a good plan for the fall and winter Mexican vegetable deal.

An improvement in the markets will boost the likelihood of strong success for IPR Fresh’s (and other Nogales firms’) plans.

On Nov. 9, Jose Luis Obregon told The Produce News, “It’s been a difficult year, to say the least.”

The Los Mochis, Sinaloa, chili pepper deal is to begin late this November for Higueral Produce Inc.

When the Tomato Suspension Agreement was finalized in November 2019, the Mexican tomato industry commenced planning for the TSA to go into effect in April 2020. This brought reduced plantings for the summer and fall Mexican tomato deal.

The short story is that markets this fall are looking up for the Nogales deal.

Alan Voll said that temperatures in Mexico in November had cooled significantly, slowing production to manageable levels and raising markets.

As a food-safety precaution within the coronavirus pandemic, Coast Produce Co., Inc. earlier this year began offering to its retail customers served by the firm’s Los Angeles facility overwrapped trays of product.  Ryan Jacobsen, Coast’s sales manager in it’s modern Nogales facility, said the positive reception from customers has brought about additional growth and the Nogales division will soon be offering the tray-wrap program to customers loading directly in Nogales as well.

Seeded Produce is engaged in its first full season of operation.

The firm was founded in the spring by Omar Losolla, who is a 20-year veteran of the Nogales produce business.
