Mexican sweet corn conditions were strong for IPR Fresh as the Nogales distributor rolled toward the spring deal.

“Our corn program has seen a big increase from last year,” said Jose Luis Obregon, the president of the firm.

MAS Melons & Grapes LLC, because of expanding programs “we are having one of our busiest seasons,” said Miky Suarez, the Nogales firm’s managing partner.

George (Hunter) Duron, a longtime Nogales produce industry died of a COVID-19 infection on Jan. 30.  He was 53 years old.

Most recently he had worked for GreenPoint.  He was long associated with Apache Produce, following RB Packing. He was in sales for Daily Fresh before joining GreenPoint.

Duron was born on Nogales, AZ on June 09, 1967.

Divine Flavor is set for a strong spring Mexican vegetable deal.

This will be refreshing, since the Nogales winter vegetable deal was challenging for Nogales distributors, and this included Divine Flavor, according to Michael DuPuis, quality assurance and public relations coordinator.

The first Champagne brand mangos of 2021 will come into the market after President’s Day. Chris Ciruli, COO of Ciruli Brothers, looked forward to this big kickoff as the beginning of what should be a strong mango season.

After starting Feb. 15, the volume of Ciruli’s branded Atualfo mango was going to build to promotable volumes in March.

“For us at Agri-Packing, this year so far has certainly evolved with many challenges,” indicated Jorge Ruiz, salesperson for Agri-Packing Supply Inc. Agri-Packing is a major supplier of a wide range of supply products for Mexican produce grower-packers.
