Turbana-Sendik’s partnership benefits hunger relief
Turbana is partnering with Sendik’s Food Market to donate a portion of proceeds to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Once again, Turbana is participating in Sendik’s promotion, “7 Days, 7 Ways to Save” with Turbana bananas and Fyffes pineapples. Every Wednesday throughout fall, Fyffes pineapples will be two for $4 and Turbana bananas will be $0.29 per pound.
For every two Fyffes pineapples that are purchased, Turbana and Sendik’s will donate $1 to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, a food bank that uses its warehouses to distribute more than 22 million pounds of food a year to 1,000 pantries, meal programs and other non-profits. It is able to serve over 330,000 people in eastern Wisconsin.
“Turbana is very happy to partner with Sendik’s once again and we are thrilled to include community involvement as a part of our participation in ‘7 Days, 7 Ways to Save’ this year,” Marion Tabard, director of marketing at Turbana, said in a press release. “We take pride in using a highly involved approach to working with communities to affect positive change.”
“Part of our mission at Sendik’s is to support the communities we serve,” Patrick Balistreri, family co-owner of Sendik’s Food Markets, added in the release. “This is a great way to partner with our friends at Turbana and give support to Feed America Eastern Wisconsin as they feed the hungry in our community. With the generosity of our guests, we’re hoping to increase the annual donation this November.”
This promotion encourages the community to make a healthy choice for themselves that will in turn, create a healthy meal for someone less fortunate.
