Tomato variety blossoms at Village Farms
Lorabella Blossom, the newest tomato variety from Village Farms, was featured during Fresh Summit. Bret Wiley, senior vice president of sales and sales operations for the Heathrow, FL-based company, said the tomato is part of the authentic San Marzano family of products exclusive to Village Farms. Lorabella Blossom is currently available in a 10-ounce clamshell and soon will be available in 10-ounce bags.
“We are describing it as ‘Blissful Bright’ due to its bright orange color and unique flavor profile consumers are looking for in a versatile tomato that not only meets their snacking but cooking needs — it is a foodie’s dream and millennials will eat it up,” he said.
Additionally, Village Farms featured its other exclusive varieties, including Heavenly Villagio Marzano, Cabernet Estate Reserve, Cherry No. 9 Fall in Love Again, True Rebel Mix, Sinfully Sweet Campari, Lip Smack’n Grape, Delectable TOV, Savory Roma, Juicy Beefsteak, Scrumptious Mini cucumbers, Luscious Long English cucumbers, and Sweet Bell peppers.
The company has some fun product demonstrations as well as a full schedule of interactive DIY’s at the show.
Brand ambassador Kristina LaRue, registered dietitian, was front and center with a great menu planned. She has been blogging and creating recipes for the company. This was LaRue’s first PMA experience.
“Fresh Summit is a great opportunity to engage with everyone about all of the companies’ fabulous tasting products,” she said. “I especially love Village Farms’ flavorful exclusive tomato varieties, like their newest Lorabella Blossom. It has a unique and alluring flavor all its own.”
