When the New York Produce Show and Conference takes place Nov. 29 - Dec. 2, the team from S. Katzman Produce will be there, walking the floor and meeting with the customers and grower-shippers who have helped make the company the success that it is.

Visitors to booth No. 402 at the New York Produce Show and Conference had the opportunity to meet with the team from Turek Farms, as representatives from the company catch up with some of its current customers and introduce themselves to potential new clients. It’s an important event for the company for many reasons, including the fact that it takes place in the biggest city on the East Coast.

Mother Earth is primed for success in the new year.

“We launched some new items, which is a good thing,” said Mark Kreiner, outside sales coordinator for the Landenberg, PA-based company. “We continue to reinvent ourselves and we look to create items where consumers have needs and wants.”

A leader in the organic category, the company is especially excited about its various powdered Lion’s Mane SKUs, as well as its Mother’s Harvest brand, which offers a mix of exotic organic mushrooms.

While Joolies has only been an established brand since 2019, the farm and facility has been in operation since 1985. 

“Located in the heart of Coachella, CA, our family farm spans over 1,000 acres of Medjool and Deglet Noor date palms,” said Mark Masten, Joolies’ CEO. “Vertical integration is the foundation of our supply chain model. This has enabled us to control every aspect of the growing and distribution process.”

With two packinghouses in Mexico in the cities of Uruapan and Jalisco, Calavo has been harvesting, packing and exporting avocados for 25 years to the United States, Asia and Europe.

“The industry has grown tremendously over the years,” said Peter Shore, vice president of product management for the Santa Paula, CA-based company, citing the fact that 2.6 billion Mexican avocados will be imported into the U.S. this year. “Calavo has been a leader in the avocado industry since 1924.”

Over the last 15 to 20 years, dates have become a fruit that people want year-round, while in the past, they were purchased during holidays. That growing demand for dates has kept the people at SunDate busy as the company provides dates for consumers 12 months a year.
