Southeastern Grocers relocating headquarters
Southeastern Grocers will move its headquarters to a new building in Jacksonville, FL, in an effort to streamline operations and cultivate a more engaged approach to supporting stores. The move is expected to be complete during the first quarter of 2016.
The company is unifying its store support center to ensure that it is responsive to its customers. According to Southeastern Grocers, "The move is an important step in making the grocery chain better suited to meeting the evolving needs of its customers and the rapidly changing industry."
Southeastern Grocers expects the office space to foster more open communication, faster decision-making and increased collaboration and engagement amongst associates.
There will be new contemporary workstations, glass walled meetings rooms to compensate for less office space and facilities to support new product development.
The majority of associates at the Jacksonville Store Support Center, Astor and Baypine offices will be moving to the four-story, 160,000-square-foot building, and some associates from its Baldwin office will also move.
Some associates may remain at their existing location due to their particular role within the organization. The IT Data Center will remain in its current location for the time being and therefore, IT associates whose roles directly relate to the management of the data center will remain at the Edgewood campus for the forseeable future.
