Sonora grape industry convenes for annual meeting
HERMOSILLO, SONORA — About 250 Mexican industry growers and related suppliers gathered April 23-24 for the Sonora Spring Summit 2015. The annual Sonora grape marketing meeting involved vineyard tours, an opening party and a day in conference in Hermosillo to discuss Sonoran grape marketing issues.
On April 23, the group toured Viñedo Carmel S.A. de C.V. in Pesqueira, and then toured the neighboring Las Mercedes vineyard of Grupo Molina. A grand steak fry was presented to attendees under the stars and palm trees on the grounds of a Molina hacienda.
The April 24 marketing meeting at the Royal Palace Hotel addressed expectations for the upcoming grape crop, a discussion of North American retail demands for grapes, the new Sonoran grape promotion and social responsibility.
