The Organic Produce Summit kicked off July 13 with an opening reception at the Monterey Conference Center. The evening, sponsored by Starr Ranch and Divine Flavor, brought together some of the 1,400-plus attendees who will make this year's OPS the largest show in its history. After the opening reception some attendees headed to afterparties hosted by Awe Sum Organics, Organic Girl and Braga Fresh.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Allegiance Retail Services LLC's Holiday Food Show has returned. After the event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Holiday Food Show returned in full force Thursday, June 15, at its familiar venue, the Meadowlands Exposition Center, here.

And as before the pandemic, fresh produce was very well represented from vendors all over the country showcasing a wide variety of items.

The Eastern Produce Council hosted its 47th annual golf outing June 14 at Fox Hollow Golf Club in Branchburg, NJ.

Following golf and a cocktail hour and dinner, Rich Martin, a member of the EPC’s Golf Committee, recognized the winning team of Raul Millan, Eurice Rojas, Oscar Castro and Johnnie Pandolfino of Vision Import Group, as well as second place team Ed Swartz of Nagoya, Kurt Zuhlke of Produce Packaging and Mark Gartenfeld.

On the morning of Saturday, May 21, 53 golfers from the produce industry teed off at the beautiful Royce Brook Golf Club in Hillsborough, NJ, for NAPAR's 23rd annual Pete Class Memorial Golf Tournament.  While the day was the warmest of the year so far, everyone enjoyed the event. The 8:30 a.m. shotgun start was preceded by breakfast; the day finished with an awards luncheon and raffle. 

The National Mango Board was the featured vendor June 3 at VegU, a popular fruit and vegetable education program held each Friday from May to October at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farmers Market in Washington, DC.

Visitors to VegU can receive a “VegU-cation” on the featured product, learning how to grow, pick, prepare and store a different fruit or vegetable during short 10-minute classes held in the VegU tent at the market.
