SenaReider relaunches under new ownership
Interlex Communications, a San Antonio, TX-based advocacy marketing firm, acquired SenaReider, a 33-year-old ad agency, and relaunched it with a new brand identity, new leadership and a new website.
Earlier this year, Interlex purchased SenaReider from original owner and co-founder Lou Sena and has since spun SenaReider off to grow independently under the leadership of Heather Ruiz, who also co-founded Interlex and served as its creative director since 1995.
According to Ruiz, SenaReider seeks to partner with companies that are not afraid to push the envelope with quirky, funny and downright edgy creative executions.
"For over 30 years SenaReider has worked in the food and beverage, outdoor recreation and travel categories," Ruiz said in a press release. "To take all that expertise and focus it on helping consumer brands grow their market is an exciting endeavor. The timing is perfect given the current media-saturated environment to work with clients to make creative that truly gets attention and response from consumers."
Chris Bodmann, SenaReider's president and chief operating officer, previously served as director of account services at Interlex and likes to highlight SenaReider's unique combination of professionalism and casual work environment.
"Although we take what we do very seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously," he said. "We've found that this attitude helps foster a creative environment for our team to work in. Fun begets fun! And consumers love to engage with fun marketing that feels more like entertainment than a sales pitch. We feel like our new website perfectly captures this attitude that has been baked into our brand."
Sena remains an active member of the SenaReider team, consulting on creative and client relations.
"I devoted more than three decades to this business and our clients," he said, "so I'm heavily invested in seeing this new era of growth take us and our partners to greater heights. And the good thing is, now I get to surf more. And that's when I get my best ideas."
SenaReider's produce industry accounts include Del Monte Fresh Produce and Bird's Eye.
