Schoneveld Breeding wins International Grower of Year
Based in Twello, the Netherlands, Schoneveld Breeding, a specialist in flowering pot plants with 35 percent of the world market for Cyclamen, won the International Grower of the Year award during a gala dinner at the 66th annual conference of the Association of Horticultural Producers in Qingdao, China, Sept. 17. AIPH president, Vic Krahn and the China Flower Association secretary general, Liu Hong, presented the Golden Rose Trophy to Schoneveld Breeding.
“There is no higher accolade for a nursery than to win the prized of International Grower of the Year,” said Tim Briercliffe, AIPH secretary general, in a news release.
The Dutch nursery, which has been growing potted plants since 1930, won the competition by receiving the highest marks from an international jury that praised Schoneveld for its business and their marketing theme, “connecting the chain,” which seeks to add value throughout the supply chain, its response to market demands, for offering a choice of niche products and for its research program on sustainable cultivation.
