SCC International creates many changes
rio rico, az — Among a variety of business additions and changes for Sergio Chamberlain, his firm, SCC International, moved into the new facility of Santa Cruz Cold Storage in April. SCC was previously known as SCC Fresh.
Chamberlain is a partner in Santa Cruz Cold Storage with Brian and Scott Vandervoet as well as a third silent partner. The cold storage is located at the northwest corner of the Rio Rico industrial park, which is home to dozens of produce houses.
Chamberlain’s son, Andre Chamberlain, joined his father’s firm in January 2016. Andre Chamberlain joins SCC International after graduating from Arizona State University in business communications and Spanish.
SCC International works directly with some growers but primarily consolidates Nogales produce for retailers across North America. Sergio Chamberlain said he expects to ship in the range of 600,000 to 700,000 boxes of fresh produce this year. SCC’s largest-volume item is Mexican spring grapes.
Early this December, SCC International is distributing cucumbers. In the first or second week of January, the firm will be shipping Roma tomatoes.
