With an extensive array of dynamic speakers, informative educational sessions, an exciting opening gala, a great golf tournament, a trade show packed with buyers and sellers, and much, much more, the Southeast Produce Council welcomed the industry to its annual flagship event, Southern Exposure 2024.

The annual Healthy Family Project thank you reception at the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure saw more than 200 produce industry professionals celebrating the ongoing impact of Healthy Family Project’s cause marketing programs. Cause marketing retail and digital campaigns in 2023 raised $277k for Feeding America food banks, Our Military Kids, Foundation for Fresh Produce, and Boys and Girls Club of America.  

HilverdaFlorist, breeder of the one and only garden gerbera series “Garvinea”, has given its product range a refreshing new look and presents it on a newly launched website. The online experience is here to teach consumers all about these unique garden plants and inspires gardeners to get creative with the colorful daisy flowers.

Very early in his employment with Walmart in Argentina, Martin (Mar·teen) Mundo knew he wanted his career path to take him to the United States on a permanent basis.

“Before getting married (in Argentina), I told my wife, Mercedes, of my plan. She was aware of this journey from the very beginning and was absolutely supportive,” Mundo recently told The Produce News from his office in Bentonville, AR., which has been his home base for the last decade of his 29-year career with the world’s largest retailer.

Family Tree Farms has hired Leighton Dill as its marketing manager, effective immediately.

Coming from a fifth-generation farm and ranch in Chowchilla, CA, Dill's agricultural journey started at a young age.  After graduating with a bachelor's degree in agribusiness from Oklahoma State University, she honed her skills as a research analyst for the Oklahoma Wheat Program. However, it was her passion for agricultural marketing that led her to switch gears and pursue a new route.
