The California table olive industry commends today's 4-0 vote by the International Trade Commission (ITC) affirming that the antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) orders first imposed on Spanish ripe olives in 2018 must remain in place. The ITC’s determination was based on its findings that a revocation of the olive AD/CVD orders is reasonably likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to the California ripe olive industry.

The Southeast Produce Council partnered with Society of St. Andrew (SoSA) to distribute free, nutritious produce during their third annual community food distribution in Macon, GA, on June 21. Reinforcing its SEPC Cares initiative, SEPC member volunteers joined the SoSA team, in collaboration with Atrium Health, to provide much-needed provisions for the community. More than 120,000 pounds of fresh produce were handed out to people struggling with food insecurity by a volunteer effort of 250 people strong.

Recognizing the growing demand for native perennials, especially in green infrastructure measures, Hoffman Nursery announced the Green Infrastructure Collection. This collection includes their existing Grass Solutions line and the new Perennial Solutions line, which features 18 flowering perennials.

Research from The Foundation for Fresh Produce reveals that toddlers are currently the only age group meeting the recommended levels of fruit and vegetable consumption. The findings highlight the importance of establishing routine produce consumption habits in children which will last throughout their lifetime.

Mission Produce Inc. will be showcasing its expertly ripened avocados and mangos with samples of Peruvian Avocado Toast and Mango Panna Cotta at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Foodservice Conference in Monterey, CA, on July 26 in booth No. 218. By mastering the art of ripening avocados and mangos for foodservice, Mission aims to inspire the incorporation of delicious avocados and mangos across more of the menu to bring added value to each dish.

The Peruvian Asparagus Importers Association represents over 90 percent of the fresh asparagus imported and consumed within the United States. The association importers are preparing for a peak season that is managed by proactive planning and strategic marketing.
