Wayne E. Bailey Produce Co. is making a concerted push with fresh-cut processed sweet potatoes, and the July 29-31 Produce Marketing Association Foodservice Conference & Exposition provides it with the perfect venue for its efforts.

“I’ll be joined at the Wayne E. Bailey Produce Company booth, number 34, at the PMA Foodservice expo by Michelle Jacobs and Ronnie Mercer, sales associates with our company,” George Wooten, president and chief executive officer of the Chadbourn, NC-based company told The Produce News.

Michael Gagel, sales representative for Basciani Foods in Avondale, PA, told The Produce News that the company is looking forward to meeting with customers and prospective customers at the July 29-31 Produce Marketing Association Foodservice Conference & Exposition in Monterey, CA, where it hopes to learn what it can do to advance its service to them.

The foodservice market is an expanding target for Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., which is based in Friesland, WI. Rick Kantner, Alsum’s director of sales and marketing, told The Produce News July 8 that the firm in September will be “introducing some new products in the area of bakers, which we think the foodservice industry will like.”

Combs Produce Co. LP, based in Dallas, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and its representatives are looking forward to sharing the fruits (and vegetables) of 50 years of success from booth 36 at this year’s Produce Marketing Association Foodservice Convention & Exhibition July 29-31 in Monterrey, CA.

Sr. Vice President Brett Combs told The Produce News, “We love the show. It gives us time to spend face to face with our customer group. It’s a great time to interact in a more relaxed setting than the day-to-day hustle of the produce business.”

Nancy Pickersgill, marketing coordinator for Mastronardi Produce Ltd. in Leamington, ON, told The Produce News that the company is excited to promote some of its specialty tomatoes at this year’s Produce Marketing Association Foodservice Conference & Expo July 29-31 in Monterey, CA.

Los Angeles-based Gourmet Trading Co. has seen demand holding strong among foodservice customers and will be exhibiting at the Produce Marketing Association’s July 29-31 Foodservice Conference & Exposition in Monterey, CA, were it intends to continue cultivating that business.
