Team Produce International Inc. works to provide its customers with the perfect mix of internationally sourced produce and locally grown commodities.

“We are primarily an importer,” President Mike Parr told The Produce News on March 8. “But we complement with locally grown produce to meet customer demand.”

The company is located in Miami, FL, and has been importing commodities for 10 years. However, as Mr. Parr went on to say, “We were born with a beard.”

Watsonville, CA-based Santa Cruz Berry Farming Co. has a year under its belt and is poised for continued growth as it strives to be a supplier of California strawberries 365 days a year.

Longtime veteran berry grower, and owner and founder of the operation, Fritz Koontz, said that the company had to learn many different things when it opened its doors in February of 2011.
