Salena Chairez, Samantha German and Tyler Custodio have been named the recipients of the Southeast Produce Council's  its newest scholarship program – SEPC Fresh Chefs. 

The California Walnut Board and California Walnut Commission reported that walnuts rank in the top 10 agricultural crops in California and are the fifth-highest exported crop.

“The California walnut industry supports over 80,000 jobs throughout the state,” said Robert Verloop, executive director and CEO of the California Walnut Board and California Walnut Commission. “Production has grown to match global demand for this nutritional, plant-based food, with over 1 billion pounds harvested in 2022.”

Meijer is seeking unique, elevated food products from across the globe to expand its Frederik's by Meijer line of premium and innovative food in its more than 260 supercenters and grocery stores across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

The retailer said prospective vendors interested in partnering with it should submit their interest here. By submitting information into the RangeMe system, vendors are making their products available for Meijer merchants to consider throughout the year.

Pairwise, a food startup, launched its inaugural product, Conscious Greens, under its Conscious Foods brand. The product was developed with CRISPR gene-editing technology. The company's Purple Power Baby Greens Blend is a mix of colorful Superfood leafy greens with a unique, fresh flavor and up to double the amount of vitamins and minerals as Romaine.
