GEM-Pack Berries and Well-Pict Berries are forging a new partnership, combining companies to build an industry leading team of berry expertise.

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services is tasked with promoting potatoes grown in the state, throughout the U.S. and Canada, and works to ensure state growers are successful.

As of mid-May, the state was kicking off strawberry season, which is always the kickoff to its general harvesting season, as it readies broccoli, blueberries, peaches, watermelon, followed by summer vegetables like eggplants, squash, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and more.

As one of the premier produce auctions in the Eastern United States, the Vineland Cooperative Produce Auction’s success is of utmost importance to New Jersey and the Northeast region.

Although California’s citrus domestic season is winding down, Bee Sweet Citrus maintains an ample supply of Royal Red oranges, Star Ruby grapefruit and lemons to meet consumer demand.

I Love Produce, an importer, marketer and distributor of garlic, ginger and shallots, based in Kelton, PA, has entered into a partnership with Promise Holdings, a Chicago-based holding company specializing in the food industry, whose companies include Hickory Farms, Annabelle Candy Co., Catalina Finer Foods, Uncle John’s Pride Sausages and Pear’s Snacks.

Wakefern Food Corp. announced the appointment of Parul Aggarwal, CPA, as vice president, controller for Wakefern Financial Services. Aggarwal reports to Chief Financial Officer Neil Falcone.

Aggarwal will oversee accounting operations, payroll, tax and compliance for Wakefern Financial Services. She will also head external financial reporting, including quarterly consolidations and financial statements, annual audited financial statements and compliance.
