Trinity Fruit Co. announced the promotion of Angela Hernandez to vice president of marketing. Since joining the company in 2018, Hernandez has been instrumental in elevating Trinity Fruit’s brand strategies, spearheading the expansion of its healthy product portfolio and championing impactful initiatives such as the company’s zero-waste and sustainability goals.

Fruit World is celebrating a strong organic and conventional mandarin season, with this year’s organic clementines in particular reaching impressively high sugar levels. Along with their excellent flavor, Fruit World is seeing exceptional quality.

Bob Freeman, who has been in the produce industry for more than 35 years, is retiring from JJB Family Farms as director of sales.

“We are so excited for he and his family,” said Derrell Kelso, manager of the Stockton, CA-based company. “He’s brought great energy, connections and helped us grow in the last five years tremendously.”

Some other changes are forthcoming, and the company is excited about what’s ahead.

Stop & Shop announced a brand-wide rollout of its innovative Savings Station, an in-store kiosk designed to make digital coupons more accessible for all customers. The Savings Station will be installed in half of Stop & Shop’s store locations in time for the upcoming holiday season, with the remaining stores getting them by the end of January.

During this busy holiday season, the New York Apple Association is working closely with retailers in customizing the right mix of promotional offerings to drive sales and get New York apples front and center of consumers.

For instance, NYAA created custom single-unit display shippers and signage for stores in addition to providing The Big Flavor, New York State Apple display shippers. 

PRO*ACT expanded its agreement with Vizient, a healthcare performance improvement company, and Provista, a Vizient company, that will change how clients manage their foodservice purchasing and supply chains.

The expanded agreement will enable clients to optimize their produce purchases while leveraging a broad selection of center-of-plate protein providers across PRO*ACT’s extensive distribution network.
