JOH has named Tom Eynon its director of produce for the Pittsburgh/Cleveland region.

Eynon brings 37 years of food industry experience to JOH, beginning his career as a produce clerk in 1989 and growing into a respected leader across produce merchandising, category management and retail operations. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of leadership positions across the produce industry, most recently serving as senior director of produce and floral for a leading regional supermarket retailer.

Orchard View Cherries, a fourth-generation grower based in The Dalles, OR, is gearing up for a promising 2026 season, with harvest anticipated in the second week of June following a favorable growing cycle. The company expects to pack approximately 1.2 million boxes of premium cherries this season.

The International Fresh Produce Association opened registration for the 2026 Global Produce & Floral Show, taking place Oct. 14–16 in Orlando, FL. Albertsons Cos. Inc. launched its patent-pending Intelligent Quality Control tool, an AI-powered solution that uses computer vision to support the ability of distribution center associates to maintain high standards for quality and consistency of fresh fruits and vegetables across the company’s supply chain. 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has filed an administrative complaint against Ganfer Fresh LLC. The company, operating out of Arizona, allegedly failed to make payment promptly to 36 produce sellers in the amount of $3.775 million from May 2024 through February 2025, in violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

Robinson Fresh, C.H. Robinson’s fresh supply chains solutions division, announced the opening of a new, 142,600-square-foot South Texas logistics center. Located strategically just miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, the facility significantly expands the company’s cross-border capabilities as well as its ability to move produce from farm to fork faster and fresher.
