Schnuck Markets' Tom Henry is being promoted to chief data and information officer, effective Dec. 20. Henry will report to Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck.

Henry’s promotion follows the retirement announcement of Bob Hardester. Since 2014, Hardester has been at the helm of the company’s information technology, cyber security, digital experience, as well as supply chain, transportation and logistics areas.

Bushwick Commission, a leading regional potato and vegetable supplier and fourth-generation family business based in Farmingdale, NY, provided more than 18,000 pounds of potatoes to the Island Harvest Food Bank of Long Island, NY. 

G&R Farms promoted Fabian Murillo to shed manager. In this role, Murillo oversees all day-to-day operations of shed production, including onion storage, drying, production scheduling, inventory management and staff supervision of over 60 employees.

Koppert is increasingly implementing ‘local for local’ operations at headquarters and subsidiaries around the world to bring about shorter transportation distances, lower freight costs, risk mitigation for the company's living products, and a significant lowering of emissions. 

Weis Markets has entered into an agreement with Saylor's Market for the purchase of certain assets of Saylor's Market in Newville, PA. This is Weis Markets' third store acquisition in 2024. In October, it purchased two stores in Franklin County and reopened them as Weis Market stores in November.

The company expects to complete the purchase in the first quarter of 2025. Once completed, the store will briefly close for conversion to a Weis Markets.
