Big Y Foods made some key changes to its sales and marketing leadership team. Guy W. McFarlane, senior vice president of sales and marketing, will be retiring Sept. 1. Michael R. Cormier will succeed McFarlane, Steven M. Nordstrom will assume the role of senior director of center store, David M. Placzek will move to director of grocery and Scott P. Brackney has been named director of Big Y brands and retail pricing.

Coborn’s Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer Dave Meyer will retire from the company, effective Dec. 31. David Best has joined the company as chief operating officer and will add the role of president upon Meyer’s retirement at the end of 2023.

Retailers can easily implement a Honduran rambutan program from July through November via Seasons Farm Fresh. The company is the largest exporter of rambutan from Honduras to North America, shipping about 25,000 pounds weekly via air during the season and is now offering a streamlined program including clamshells to help retail sell this unique fruit.
