As the 2023 apple season takes off, the company is gearing up with optimism and anticipation. The company’s vice president of business development, Robb Myers, was pleased to report that the apple crop is showing promise, with the prospect of year-round availability for most of their varieties.

As DiMare reaches the halfway point in its 95th year of business, Jeff Dolan has been named president of DMB Packing. Dolan will play an expanded leadership role in the family business. Previously he held the position of field operations manager. In the new role, he will oversee all operations regarding the growing, packing and shipping of fresh market tomatoes in California.

With summer coming to a close, many individuals are taking out the fall décor in anticipation of cooler weather, the changing of leaves and, of course, apples. Honeybear Brands, is looking forward to a prosperous apple crop this season, especially with its Honeycrisp variety. “Our Honeycrisp crop is expected to be normal volume and have beautiful color,” said Kristi Harris, brand manager for the Elgin, MN-based company, which has locations in Brewster, WA and Yakima, WA. She added that the Honeycrisp size is expected to average.

 The Texas International Produce Association proudly invites industry members to apply for this year’s challenge, which will kick off in mid-Oct.  and will culminate at the 2024 Viva Fresh Expo in Houston on April 13. 

Taylor Farms has launched a new product: Celery Bites.  Following the examples in other categories across the store — including beverages, salty snacks and cereal — Taylor Farms is introducing bite-sized pieces of celery featuring a smaller 1.5-inch cut to provide smaller pieces for snacking, juicing and for use in smoothies.
