On Saturday, Oct. 21 Pure Flavor and Trinity Co. hosted retailers, suppliers and friends for “One Hot Night” in Anaheim, CA. The party closed out a successful International Fresh Produce Association Global Produce & Floral Show.

Everyone knows avocados are a commodity. Except when they’re not. The Bravocado brand from Henry Avocado is a case in point, according to Phil Henry.

Henry’s emphasis on fresh delivery to its retail and foodservice customers has driven the brand since Bravocado became part of the industry’s lexicon in 1938.

TUCSON, AZ — The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas kicked of its 54th annual convention on Nov. 2, here, at a new venue with a new format.

After many years at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa, the FPAA moved its annual event to the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains and added an expo to the agenda. Attendees gathered for an opening reception the night before the expo, where they enjoyed great food and camaraderie.

Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. named Curtis Valentine as its chief financial officer of the company, effective Jan. 1, 2024. Valentine is currently Sprouts’ senior vice president of finance and will succeed Lawrence (Chip) Molloy, who previously announced his intention to retire as chief financial officer at the end of 2023.

House Foods America Corp., a leading provider of tofu, Asian specialties and plant-based foods, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with what it termed an "Anniversary Facility Extravaganza."

About 100 people toured the company's facility on either Oct. 18 or Oct. 19.

The company is headquartered in Garden Grove, CA, about 15 minutes from Anaheim, CA, the site of this year's International Fresh Produce Association's trade show.
