Continental Fresh brings purpose-driven mangos to Viva Fresh 2026
This April marks the seventh season of Continental Fresh’s Water For All branded mango program, a milestone that reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to pairing high-quality produce with meaningful impact. Inspired by the vision of CEO Albert Perez, the corporate social responsibility initiative donates a percentage of proceeds from every branded box of mango sold to support clean water projects in Latin America, communities that are often closely connected to the agricultural supply chain that makes the program possible.
Continental Fresh, a leading grower, shipper, and importer of fresh fruits and vegetables from Latin America, will return to exhibit at Viva Fresh in San Antonio, Texas, April 16–18, just as the company’s Mexican mango season begins to ramp up. The timing of the show provides a natural opportunity for the team to connect with industry partners while highlighting both the quality of their fruit and the mission behind their Water For All label.
“Viva Fresh is definitely one of the highlights of our year,” said Perez. “It comes at a perfect time of year when we are just ramping up our Mexican mango season packed in our Water For All label. No one puts on a show like Dante Galeazzi and his team at TIPA. For this show we have something special planned. Our lively mascot Juicy the Mango will be portrayed by a surprise industry celebrity. Please make sure to come by our booth to see who it is.”
Perez is steadfast in his conviction that business is about more than simply delivering high-quality produce, it can also be a force for positive change. Under his leadership, Continental Fresh has built a business philosophy centered on the idea that profit and purpose are not mutually exclusive.
For nearly two decades, Continental Fresh has focused on connecting dependable growers in Latin America with reputable buyers across the United States and beyond. Through these long-term partnerships, the company has built a reputation for reliability while developing deep trust among growers, suppliers, and customers alike. Yet for Perez, the company’s impact should extend beyond the marketplace.
This belief ultimately led to the creation of the Water For All program, which was designed to directly support rural communities by funding access to clean and reliable water sources. The initiative focuses on practical infrastructure projects, such as wells, water storage systems, and purification solutions, that can significantly improve daily life for families living in agricultural regions.
“Water is the basic foundation of a community,” shared Perez. “Many young family members walk hours to collect it, and oftentimes the water they find is not safe to drink. Without clean water, families are locked in cycles of poverty, sickness, and low education levels. By funding water projects in rural communities, we are taking a huge step in breaking the poverty trap while bringing empowerment, health, and opportunity to local communities.”
As the next season of the Water For All mango program begins, the company is looking forward to sharing both its fruit and its story with industry partners at Viva Fresh.. From celebrating the start of the Mexican mango season to showcasing the continued impact of its clean water initiatives, the event provides an opportunity to highlight how produce companies can drive meaningful change while delivering exceptional quality to customers.
