Morinaga introduces silken tofu for women's health
Morinaga Nutritional Foods Inc., a leader in the soyfoods industry and maker of shelf-stable "Mori-Nu" silken tofu based in Los Angeles, has introduced a tofu especially designed to address health concerns of women.
The new Mori-Nu enriched silken tofu contains the ingredients that women especially are striving to get more of in their diet: calcium and fiber.
With Enriched, Mori-Nu has created a silken tofu with the same creamy-smooth texture and mild flavor that has made Mori-Nu Silken Tofu popular, but with more calcium and fiber than the company's original and lite tofu varieties. Like all Mori-Nu Tofu, Enriched also has shelf-stable packaging, making it convenient to store in the cupboard or pantry.
"Women are always looking for quick, easy ways to get more calcium and fiber into their diets -- and often those of their family, too, said Susan Bucher, sales and marketing director at Morinaga Nutritional Foods. "Mori-Nu Enriched gives women a great option for getting these essentials and improving overall health.
One serving (three ounces or about one-quarter of a package) of Mori-Nu Enriched silken tofu provides six grams of protein, and 10 percent of the recommended daily allowance for calcium and fiber. In addition, as a low-fat vegetable protein, it contains all the essential amino acids, but without the excess saturated fat and cholesterol of animal protein. It is made with organic soybeans and certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
