Manuel Salazar named Camposol's new CEO
Leading Peruvian grower-exporter Camposol Holding Ltd. has named Manuel Salazar as its chief executive officer. He succeeds Samuel Dyer Coriat, who will temporarily remain executive chairman in order to support Salazar during the transition. Ultimately Coriat will continue as chairman of the board of directors, delegating all CEO duties to Salazar.
"We are very pleased to have Manuel in our team, as he not only has the experience but also has the organizational, financial and commercial skills in order to help us achieve our vision to become one of the first five leaders in the world in the provision of healthy food," Coriat said in a press release.
Salazar has a solid background as CEO, including the design of strategic, commercial and financial planning for large and complex organizations, operating in different markets, as well as broad experience in leadership, culture transformation management and control systems. He has over 20 years of professional experience in managerial roles of local and regional responsibility. His previous position was as CEO of Louis Dreyfus Commodities for Peru and Chile.
He began his career in 1991 at Banco de Credito del Peru and consolidated in the banking sector, assuming ultimately the position of risk manager for the Andean region in West Merchant Bank. Later, Salazar was manager of planning and strategy at Corporation Lindley — after the acquisition of ELSA. Salazar holds a bachelor's degree from Clark University, an MBA from Georgetown University and a PhD in management from the University of Lleida.
