San Diego Farms, parent company of Fresh Origins and BrightFresh Microgreens, announced senior leadership promotions for Tiago Castro, now vice president of operations, and Shelby Rodich, now director of marketing.

Castro's new role recognizes his record of professional excellence and contributions to the company's expansion. Castro previously served as director of operations for the company, where he led significant capacity growth and strengthened production processes to support customers nationwide.

After a winter marked by cold temperatures, supply disruptions and rising production costs, Nardelli Lake View Farms is optimistic about the upcoming New Jersey season as crops begin developing across the state.

With 180,000 square feet, 28 dock doors and more than 7,400 pallet positions, Vineland, NJ-based TruFresh Logistics efficiently handles a wide range of fresh produce commodities throughout the year.

During the New Jersey season, the TruFresh facility supports regional produce programs. Outside the local season, products are typically sourced from growing regions throughout North and South America, as well as Europe and other international origins, depending on the commodity.

The International Fresh Produce Association's The Floral Conference convened floral industry leaders from across the global supply chain in Miami this week, bringing together breeders, growers, importers, suppliers and retail floral buyers for two days of networking, education and business development.

Fresh asparagus supplies are expanding as several seasonal growing regions come online. Washington and Michigan are now in full production, while Mexican and Canadian volumes have strengthened. Peruvian supplies remain steady, and many local U.S. farms are also harvesting high‑quality product.

Red Sun Farms' Sweet North strawberries received both the Best Berry and Overall Best Strawberry awards in the 2026 Greenhouse Competition in Leamington, ON. This annual industry competition brings together some of the largest greenhouse growers in North America, celebrating top-performing produce across a variety of categories. Red Sun Farms also earned recognition for the Hottest Tomato in the Roma category.
