International Floral Expo heads to New Orleans
The 2014 International Floriculture Expo, Fresh Ideas in Bloom, moves to the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, June 10-13. For the past five years the expo has been held in Miami Beach, FL.
IFE is a leading U.S. trade event for people from every aspect of the floriculture industry to come together annually to focus on floral education, resources, and connections, according to a news release. The four-day expo includes one education day and three days of exhibits, design demonstrations and other events.
The education program on June 10 includes:
• “Inspiring Floral Designs for a Successful 4th Quarter” presented by Bill Harper, AIFD Laureate, educator and author from Cleveland, MO.
• “Balloon Rescue 911” by Peggy Williams, education coordinator for Burton & Burton in Bogart, GA, and Robert De Bellis, designer and education specialist from World Class Flowers in Egg Harbor City, NJ.
• “Trend Watch 2014” presented by Rawlins Gilliland, former national sales director for Neiman Marcus and NPR contributor from Dallas.
• “The Communication Conundrum” by Cindy Hanauer, founder of Grand Central Floral, Jacksonville, FL.
• “Here Comes the Bride … Are You Targeting Her Business?” presented by Sharon McGukin, past president of AIFD, floral designer and speaker from Carrollton, GA.
On June 12, John Moore from Greenville, SC, former Starbucks marketing manager, former Whole Foods director of marketing and author of a trio of business books, will present the keynote address, “Espresso Shots of Business Wisdom.”
June 11, 12 and 13 are designed for buyers and attendees to tour the 250 exhibits on the show floor, attend demonstrations and network with other industry professionals.
