Hortiflorexpo IPM 2014 slated for Beijing
China’s largest international horticultural trade show, Hortiflorexpo IPM, will be held April 23-26 at the Beijing Exhibition Center. Sponsored by the China Flower Association, Hortiflorexpo IPM features floriculture, horticulture and the newest innovations, products and services for the entire gardening industry.
The China Flower Association has partnered with Messe Essen Germany since 2012 for this joint fair. Top florists from Germany will demonstrate the newest trends in floral design during the show.
This year there will be exhibitors from over 450 companies representing 24 countries; an 11 percent increase over last year. In 2013, more than 18,800 visitors from 43 countries attended the expo.
China has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the Chinese standard of living is rising rapidly. Flower consumption has increased yearly and China is becoming a lucrative floriculture market. New plant breeds and urban greenery are in great demand. There is also growing interest in modern horticulture technology and environmentally friendly biotechnology.
“China’s plant and flower industry is booming and, due to the cooperation between competent partners, Hortiflorexpo IPM offers the ideal setting in order to reach this growing market,” said Egon Galinnis, managing director of Messe Essen, in a news release.
Hortiflorexpo IPM takes place every year, alternating between Beijing and Shanghai.
